Description
Recovery Action: American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Work with Savannah River Nuclear Solutions. (DUNS 798861048) at Savannah River Site, Aiken, SC The Department of Energy, Savannah River Operations Office (DOE-SR), de-obligated $1,400,000.00 million dollars on its existing Management and Operations (M&O) contract with the Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC (SRNS) Contract No. DE-AC09-08SR22470. This funding was de-obligated under contract modification 048 and will be made available for the DOE-SR Budget Director to send to EM HQ for re-allocation on the November Approved Funding Program (AFP) to the Nevada Test Site. This decrease in funding is in accordance with FINPLAN # 03. The total amount of funds obligated under this contract is decreased from $2,758,812,515.33 to $2,757,412,515.33. Rationale: The work referenced in this synopsis has been reviewed by the Contracting Officer and determined to be within the existing basic scope of Contract No. DE-AC09-08SR22470. This funding will cover unbudgeted increased waste disposal volume and operation costs related to ARRA work scope at the Nevada Test Site. The re-allocation is based on ARRA volumes for the largest EM generators. Background: Contract No. DE-AC09-08SR22470 was awarded on January 10, 2008 to Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC. The base performance period is August 1, 2008 to July 31, 2013, and the contract includes an unexercised option period that runs from August 1, 2013 to July 31, 2018. The contract was awarded using full and open competitive procedures and allows for in scope work to be performed (increased or decreased) based on budgetary approvals and the availability of funds. For the subject modification, the Recovery Act serves as a budgetary decrease which allows for increased work to commence at the Nevada Test Site. DUNS 798861048
