Reason for Sole Source: Only one responsible source: the supplies or services needed by the agency are available from only one responsible source and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. Contract Award Date: May 27, 2010 Synopsis: The United States Patent & Trademark Office issued a sole source award to Arpin International Group for an International Relocation and Storage of Household Effects, Unaccompanied Baggage and a vehicle. Contract Award Date: May 27, 2010 Synopsis: The United States Patent & Trademark Office issued a sole source award to Arpin International Group for an International Relocation and Storage of Household Effects, Unaccompanied Baggage and a vehicle. Contract Type Justification: This requirement is for relocation of Household Effects (HHE) and Unaccompanied Baggage (UAB) and a vehicle from Myersville, MD to Geneva, Switzerland. Relocations of this type require freight shipment by land, air, and sea. As such, the pricing is based upon the weight of the goods. Until the goods can actually be packed and placed in shipping containers to be weighed, the vendor is only able to estimate based upon a visual inspection of the property to be moved. It is impossible to get an exact weight estimate for this type of procurement, and therefore a time and materials contract is sought. It shall be noted that the long-term storage encompassed in the option periods are fixed price, and this T&M determination is only applicable to CLINs 0001, 0002, and 0004.
