- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) has awarded a firm fixed price, sole source contract for a base year and two option years to General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products Inc. (GDATP) to procure M61A2 20mm Automatic Gun Systems for the F/a-18E/F aircraft. It is estimated that the Navy will procure approximately 78 units over a three (3) year period to support Domestic requirements. This contract also contains in-service engineering and technical support of the M61A2 20mm Gun System. The contract was awarded on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory authority permitting Other than Full and Open Competition of Title 10 USC 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." This acquisition satisfies agency requirements critical to the F/A-18E/F program office.
