- Improved Flame Resistant Cold Weather Gloves Bridge Buy to cover FY10 FY10 RFI shortfall Information to support preparation of RFQ: 1.Item Description: A winter glove will be issued for deploying Soldiers through the Rapid Fielding Initiative. The improved flame resistant cold weather glove shall have maximum dexterity, tactility, flexibility, and flame protection combined with durability to protect the hands in intermediate cold, dry conditions. The glove will be used while performing various training and combat related tasks, examples such as operating weapons, vehicles, individual and crew served equipment and utility tasks such as moving cargo, digging and handling construction and earthen materials (lumber, sand bags, concrete blocks, bricks, rocks). 2. Salient characteristics: a.Design 1.Inseam stitched, 2.pre-curved fingers, 3.fourchettes, 4.leather reinforced on fingers tip fourchettes for increased durability 5.reinforced patches over increased wear areas on palm b.Nomex Simplex knit with anti-static 1.flame resistance a. (ASTMD 6413) 2.color: foliage green c.Available in 5 sizes, minimum. d.Direct grip insert/ inside lining 1.Non-melt 2.Anti-Microbial 3.Waterproof e.Goatskin 1.color: foliage green 2.digital texture for tactility 3.treated with a water resistant compound f.Nomex thread g.Prototypes not acceptable. Proof of sales and state number of returns for durability purposes. h.Means to secure/ tighten item around wrist 1. No melt/stick material j. Means to attach item to Military gear (i.e.MOLLE) 3.Quantity and Delivery Schedule: a. 50,000 total pairs: 4,000 pairs Size Small; 9,000 pairs Size medium; 20,000 pairs Size Large; 12,000 pairs Size X-Large; 5,000 pairs Size XX-Large b. Required delivery schedule: 16,000 pair per month beginning in AUG 2010 - OCT 2010 and 2,000 in NOV 2010. The ability to deliver earlier is considered as highly favorable. 4.
