- SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE FSC: 4030 - Body, swivel hook - H46/H53 helicopter application; The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, San Diego CA is issuing this "Market Research - Sources Sought" synopsis. Industry comments will be accepted by email. The objective of this market research is to determine if there are existing companies that are qualified to manufacture and or supply the following product:Body Swivel Hook, part number: AC62243. This part/drawing number is from a 1981 Aeroquip Corporation, Industrial Division, Van Wert, OH, cage: 01276 drawing. The drawing is labeled with a "proprietary, do not disclose data" statement. Recent discussions held with representatives of the Eaton Corporation dba Eaton Aerospace Division, Kinedyne Corporation and Breeze Eastern revealed that none of these companies could identity the part number. They could provide no useable information as to which company is currently manufacturing this part. Apparently, the Aeroquip Corporation was purchased by Eaton and then Eaton sold the product line to Kinedyne. Kinedyne referred the Navy to Breeze Eastern and this company had no knowledge of the part. At this point the Navy cannot identify sources of manufacture or supply nor can the drawing be utilized by the Navy because of the proprietary data statement. The DLA stock system shows a similar part number AC62238, cargo hook, nsn: 4030-01-315-7328 as an Eaton product. The required part AC62243 is not in the DLA system. The Fleet Readiness Center-Southwest, San Diego, CA currently still works on and repairs H46/H53 helos and has a need for the body, swivel hook as part of a cargo sling system used aboard the helos. Contractors that are currently involved with this series of hooks in whatever capacity, manufacturing, distributing or who may have knowledge of this product are requested to contact the FISCSD point of contact as soon as possible. This is not a request for proposal nor does the Government intend to pay for any information provided by industry in response to this market research sources sought synopsis.
