Description
RECOVERY - PER FAR 5.7 THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY; THEREFORE FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTOR(S) UNDER THE CURRENT CONTRACT NUMBER(S): Diaz Yourman & Associates, W912P7-08-D-0003-0003 This contract action was accomplished using other than competitive procedures because this is a task/delivery order where an exception to fair opportunity requirements was approved as this is a follow-on order to a competitive initial order (FAR 8.405-6(b)(2) or 16.505(b)(2)(iii). Project Description: The Contractor shall perform a levee and channel safety Periodic Inspection (PI) on the project systems (systems) indicated on the summary sheets included as enclosure in the scope of work. The systems to be inspected may consist of multiple segments and have multiple sponsors per system. The purpose of PIs is to verify proper operation and maintenance, evaluate operational adequacy, review design criteria, identify changes in current design standards as related to the authorized project, locate and identify features to monitor over time, and improve the ability to communicate the overall condition and nature of the project. A system comprises one or more components which collectively provide flood damage reduction to a defined area. Failure of one component within a system constitutes failure of the entire system. The system is inclusive of all components that are interconnected and necessary to ensure protection of the associated separable floodplain levee, channel and floodwall sections, closure structures, pumping stations, culverts, relief wells and interior drainage works. The adjacent diagram is an example of how systems are to be interpreted for the purposes of this Scope of Work. The Contractor shall provide equipment, supplies, personnel, vehicles and adhere to right of entry permissions as noted above in section 2.j. to conduct the Periodic Inspections of required systems. Refer to Enclosure 2 for pertinent data to individual systems. All work shall be performed in compliance with the Corps of Engineers Safety Manual, EM 385-1-.
