- This is a Commercial Item with the intent to award as a Simplified Acquisition, Sole Source Contract for support of an existing computer-based 3D simulation program used for courses that are used to enhance the learning experience and increase situational awareness for Wildland fire personnel. This simulation program is a multi-purpose tool that is used for operational briefings, after action reporting, lessons learned in addition to training. A Sole Source Award is being considered as this program has been in development over the past nine years. FY 2010 will be the final version of the 3D Wildland Fire Simulation Program. Due to the proprietary nature of computer software code and the established base line computer program development(contractor) services are required in order to see the project thru fruition.
