Description
This is a construction project for the Vehicle Control Point (VCP) 6 located at Fort Meade, Maryland. The scope of this contract encompasses phased improvements to the existing VCP 6. The work includes, but is not limited to, demolition of limited portions of existing security fencing, concrete curb and gutter, and paving. New work includes, but is not limited to, construction of new travel lanes, anti-ram vehicle barriers, earthwork, segmental concrete block retaining walls, concrete curbs and gutters, bituminous paving, bio-retention facilities, security fencing and gates, guardrails, paving, overwatch booths, electrical ductbank, wiring, power, data and communications facilities, overhead speed and wrong way detection systems, seeding and sodding, exterior signage, pad-mounted transformers, exterior lighting including security and CCTV, pavement markings, storm drainage utilities, and incidental related work. This proposed procurement is restricted to Small Business contractors. NAICS code 237310, size standard $33, 500,000.00. The work shall be completed within 365 calendar days from receipt of notice to proceed. The magnitude of construction is $5-10M. All workers performing on this job are required to be U.S. Citizens. The solicitation will be posted to FedBizOpps on or about 15 June 2010. Drawings and site plans will need to be picked up in person. To arrange for pick up, email Nina.Albritton@usace.army.mil. Only small business contractors are able to pick up the documents. A memorandum at time of pick up is required to be signed by a corporate officer on behalf of the company. Also, at time of pick up contractors must show a valid drivers license. All drawings and site plans must be returned following award. Qualified contractors are encouraged to attend a site visit on or about 30 June 2010. Contractors are required to pre-register and be approved to attend. The following information shall be sent no later than 3:00 pm 25 June 2010 to Nina Albritton via email at Nina.Albritton@usace.army.mil for each person: full name, social security number, date of birth, place of birth, and company name. Each prospective offeror will be limited to no more than 2 individuals attending the site visit. Only U.S. Citizens may attend. Questions may be directed in writing to Nina Albritton via email at Nina.Albritton@usace.army.mil. All questions and clarifications are required to be in writing no later than close of business 2 July 2010.
