- The U.S. Army Test Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground is inviting interested contractors to provide information on the availability of compressed gas for test requirements. The requested information will be included market research to determine the procurement method of the compressed gas. By providing information in response to this RFI, you agree that the Army Test Center may use the information for planning its requirement. All information received will be treated as public knowledge; therefore, vendors should not submit proprietary information in response to this RFI. The intent of this market research will be to provide the Army Test Center with feedback on the commercially available compressed gas in high quantities. The results of the market research will not yield a determination of what product is best, nor shall the Army Test Center endorse any product or manufacturer. Responses to this RFI should include your company name, whether you manufacture or distribute, address, point of contact, telephone, fax, web address, and e-mail address. Follow-up requests for feedback should not be made through the Fed BizOpps posting agency. Vendors may be contacted following submission for more detailed information. Submittals: Information about a particular brand/product should be submitted via email by 4:00 pm EDT on 10 June 2010 to John.Whitt1@conus.army.mil. Put RFI Compressed Gas in the e-mail subject line. Submission may also be sent by mail to: Aberdeen Installation contracting Division, ATTN: CCRD-AI-IC, Chanel Williams, 4118 Susquehanna Avenue, Aberdeen, MD 21005. Packages must be postmarked by 10 June 2010. All technical questions regarding this RFI should be directed via email toJohn.Whitt1@conus.army.mil. This RFI is for information gathering and planning purposes only, and should not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or solicitation of an offer. The Government does not intend to award a contract on this basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited. REQUIREMENT Testing will be conducted at Aberdeen Test Center in Aberdeen Proving Ground Maryland during the entire month of August 2010. A compressed gas source is required to pressurize a chamber in order to facilitate testing. The test will occur in the center of a 150 foot pond, and the chamber will be submerged to a depth of 10 feet. Below are the requirements that the compressed gas source must meet: "Cylindrical 310 cubic inch chamber pressurized to 3000 PSI "Reset to discharge every 20 seconds (for rapid fire shots) "Rapid fire 4 shots in succession according to intervals stated above "545 shots in 3 days for Phase I "200 shots over the course of 3 weeks "Phase II Week of downtime in between phases I and II "Cost Effective/Practical Way to do this "Gas source must be able to be located on floating bridge sections or ran 500 feet from shore Technical POC: John Whitt at 410 278 0327 or john.whitt1@conus.army.mil.
