Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST TO PURCHASE THE CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL. As part of an FY11 AAC Hangar design-build construction project on Fort Wainwright, Alaska, the US Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District intends to include a sole source specification for a MEGADOOR hangar door system. The Government requires aircraft hangar doors that open vertically, resist infiltration, are insulated and are comprised of multiple sections which may be operated individually or in groups. The overall hangar door opening, with all doors open, will be approximately 436 feet wide by a minimum of 28 feet tall. The hangar door opening will have six (6) to eight (8) separate door sections with retractable vertical mullions. The vertical opening doors eliminate the need for lateral door pockets and rails and/or floor tracks which are required with sliding doors and are problematic with the ice and snow conditions in Fairbanks, Alaska. The doors shall be double-fabric doors with horizontal stiffeners to provide structural resistance to wind loading, resistance to infiltration, thermal performance of R-3 minimum and a pliability range of approximately -31F to 158F. A series of multiple doors with swing-up mullions is required to provide the Army with maximum flexibility in housing a variety of aircraft sizes and configurations while limiting exposure of the hangar bay to environmental elements. Sources able to meet the above criteria are requested to respond to this notice by June 24, 2010. All sources must be able to meet the domestic or trade agreements restrictions contained under FAR 52.225-11 Buy American Act-Construction Materials under Trade Agreements.
