Description
The Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky has a requirement for an AE firm to provide design services for the renovation of the West Entrance to the medical center utilizing the most recent Planetree Healthcare Design and LEED concepts. The design shall include a reception area, information counter and public restrooms. The design should also include a plan and a schedule for relocating the functions, staff and storage displaced by the project. Design services will include but is not limited to the preparation of complete drawings and 3-D animation in AutoCAD 2009 or other format upon acceptance by the VA. Specifications shall be in the 2004 Master Construction Specification format, and construction costs estimates per the Department of Veterans Affairs guidelines. The design should include all disciplines necessary for the completion of the project in accordance with VA guidelines and specifications. The new design shall conform to VA standards and provide adequate facilities for VA staff. Design shall also include preparation of detailed phasing plan/sequence of operation for minimum disruption of hospital operations. The design also needs to incorporate the principles of sustainable design and energy efficiency per VA guidelines. The A/E team shall include a Certified Industrial Hygienist for the design and planning of asbestos abatement and support planning and design of infection control measures. Area of consideration is limited to a 120 mile radius of the Robley Rex VA Medical Center. The NAICS Code is 541130 and the size standard is $4.5M. Period of performance is 120 calendar days. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. Firms desiring consideration must submit three (3) copies of SF 330 NO LATER THAN 2:00p.m EDT on July 21, 2010. SF 330 should be sent to Roxie Ann Keese, Contracting Officer, Robley Rex VA Medical Center, Acquisition Service Center VISN 9(90C), 800 Zorn Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky 40206-1433. No faxed or email SF 330s will be accepted. A/E selection criteria will include: 1) Professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of required services. 2)Specialized experience and technical competence in the type of work required, including where appropriate, experience in energy conservation, pollution prevention, waste reduction and the use of recovered materials. 3) Past performance on contracts with Government agencies and private industry in terms of cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performance schedules. 4) Capacity to accomplish the work in the required time. 5) Location in the general geographical area of the project. 6) Acceptability under other appropriate evaluation criteria. Estimated cost range is $100,000.00 to $250,000.00
