The MOPAS is a training area consisting of various components and specialized equipment that is required to support combat operations by providing a realistic practical application training site to conduct mobility operation training. This site supports both operating force pre-deployment training needs, as well as, formal school training needs designed to prepare Marines for various logistician/embark roles in the operating forces. With this in mind, Logistics Operations School (LOS) is tasked to provide initial and sustained training for logistical mobility, landing support and embarkation occupational specialties as directed by NAVMC 3500.27_, LOG T&R Manual. The MOPAS is required to meet requisite entry, intermediate and advanced MOS Training & Readiness (T&R) events assigned to the formal schools as specified in NAVMC 3500.27_, LOG T&R Manual. The current antiquated training equipment and unimproved environment fails to provide current, realistic or safe practical applications of critical tasks.
