Description
A/E for CMOP Renovation Project 796-10-021, Sources Sought Notice Description AE Design - To Renovate the Great Lakes - Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (GL-CMOP) Spaces at Hines, Illinois, for the VA Services and Distribution Center (SDC), Building 37, Hines, IL. This is a request for Standard Form 330, not a request for proposal. Provide Professional Architectural Engineering Design services to Renovate the Great Lakes - Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (GL-CMOP) Spaces at Hines, Illinois, Project 796-10-021, at the VA Services and Distribution Center (SDC), Building 37, Hines, IL. Work to include, but is not limited to, the preparation of drawings, specifications and cost estimates for all facets of work and trades necessary to facilitate an award of a construction contract for renovation. The scope of the project is broken down into the four following parts: Part IA: Consists of the construction of approximate 680 linear feet of perimeter wall to accommodate the installation of a new air condition system. The area to be air conditioned is approximately 81,000 square feet. The air condition system design has to be carefully integrated into the facilities comprehensive air conditioning system upgrade currently under design and marked for construction in late 2010. Part IB: Consists of the construction of approximately 21,000 square feet of administrative and shared space in an existing open warehouse area. This part includes administration offices, staff lunchroom, toilet facilities, new staff and visitor entrances, staff locker room and information technology offices for regional and maintenance. Part IC: Repair approximately 32,000 square feet of peeling paint adhered to the interior underside of the steel roof deck. Install acoustical treatments for sound attenuation. Part ID: Demolish existing administration offices and lunch room facility (approximately 5000 square feet). This includes the removal of existing masonry wall units housing the director's office, server room, janitor's closet and toilet rooms. Also included is the demolition of employee toilet rooms and lunch room facilities. Remove portable offices and mezzanine areas. The area is to be restored to an open warehouse condition. The above Scope of Work constitutes a basic outline of work and in no way outlines all the details for the design of this project. It is recommended that a detailed inspection of the premises be initiated to determine the needs and conditions for the design and plans for this project. Copies of the original construction drawings for Building 37 are available for A/E use. Work involved may contain, but is not limited to, removal and replacement of existing materials and equipment design and analysis and construction period services. Estimated construction cost is between $5,000,000 - $10,000,000. Area of consideration is restricted to 100 miles of the Hines VA Hospital, Hines, Illinois. Submit two (2) copies of SF 330 with appropriate documentation by close of business July 6, 2010. No bid packages are available. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). NAIC #541330 applies.
