- Description
- RECOVERY -- The USDA Agriculture Research Service (ARS) requires that all labor, supervision, tools, and materials be provided to repair the 100,000-gallon single pedestal elevated potable water storage tank at the Appalachian Fruit Research Station (AFRS) located in Kearneysville, WV. The project consists of a base bid and two option items. The BASE BID, LINE ITEM 01 includes abrasive blasting of the tank interior to remove lead-based paint, application of a bio-based paint to the tank interior, structural repairs and installation of an electric water boiler. NOTE: The Biobased paint requires a certified applicator. Please contact Steve Crandal at Prime Coatings Inc., Utilithane at 714-813-2089 [cell] to inquire about becoming a certified applicator. This certification must be submitted with the bid in order to be eligible to receive a contract award. Option 1, LINE ITEM 02: includes pressure washing the tank exterior. Option 2, LINE ITEM 03: includes abrasive blasting and painting of the tank exterior. All work shall be performed in accordance with the terms, conditions, drawings, and specifications. The estimated cost of construction for the base bid and the options is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This project must be completed within 90 days after receipt of notice to proceed. This is a full an open competitive requirement under the Small Businesses Competitive Demonstration Program. The NAICS Code is 238320, with a size standard of $14.0 million. This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-41. Solicitation No. AG-3615-S-10-0007 is scheduled for release on or about June 22, 2010. A pre-bid site visit is scheduled on July 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). It is the contractor's responsibility to monitor the FBO website for all requirements for this solicitation. Bids will be due at 2:00 p.m. on July 22, 2010. A firm-fixed price contract will be awarded to the responsible offeror who submits the lowest bid. All responsible firms may submit an offer which will be considered by the agency. Contractors are required to register or update their registration at the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) website at https://www.bpn.gov/ccr in order to receive a contract award under this solicitation.
