- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE only. Responses to this notice will be used for information and planning purposes. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this notice. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS NOTICE. This notice shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Responses to this sources sought is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The VA Health care Network Upstate New York (VISN 2) is seeking sources to provide driver training services to include evaluation, training, and vehicle needs assessment to eligible and referred veterans located in Buffalo, Batavia, Canandaigua, Bath, and Syracuse, New York. The patient's progress will be reported in a monthly report from time of initial evaluation until completion of training, including notation of licensure achievement. The following behavioral objectives are to be accomplished: "The patient will acquire specific knowledge in all areas of the driver training course including didactic theory and practical experience. "Psychomotor improvements in handling segments of the driver training task will be noted by comparison of function before and after completion of the training course "The patient will maximize independence in all aspects of driving "Supporting adaptive equipment will enable patients to mainstream themselves into society Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by submitting literature detailing their experience and resources. Interested parties' responses shall include: Company Name, DUNS number, address, point of contact, title, phone number and email address. Interested parties shall also identify their type of business (Small or large) and socioeconomic status whether Service Disabled Veteran Owned, Veteran Owned, Hubzone, 8(a), Woman owned, Small Disadvantaged, etc. The NAICs code for this is 624310, Vocational Rehabilitation Services (size standard of $7.0 million). Responses are to be sent electronically to leslie.robinson2@va.gov. After review of the responses to this sources sought notice, a solicitation announcement may be published on the FBO website. Responses to this sources sought notice are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested parties will have to respond to the solicitation announcement in addition to responding to this sources sought notice. Interested parties are reminded to register with Central Contractor Registration (CCR) at http://www.ccr.gov in order to be eligible for award of Government contracts. Responses must be received by 6/11/2010.
