Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. This is not a request for proposal or a request for quotations. There is no solicitation available at this time. This notice is a market research tool used for planning purposes only to determine the availability and capability of sources. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, is seeking sources to provide rental of a self-elevating, self-propelled drill platform for the conduct of inshore and offshore water-borne drilling. General requirements are as follows: a. Self-elevating with at least a 2-person boat crew. b. Self-propelled with 8 to 10 knot transit capability. c. Differential GPS locating equipment accurate to a few centimeters horizontally and vertically. d. Ready to mobilize within two weeks of notification. e. Equipped with drill rig capable of drilling to 1,000-foot depth. f. Able to work around the clock. g. Have berthing area and galley. h. Have adequate lighting to allow around the clock drilling. i. Have enclosed work area adequate for storage of drill tools, supplies, and samples. j. Have enclosed area for drilling crew to rest and for standby time during transit. k. Capable of working in water depths up to 60 feet and on all bottom types (soft and hard). l. Capable of working up to 15 miles off shore. m. Be of sufficient length and width to provide adequate deck space to support drilling operations and staging of drilling tools. n. Have safe system for boarding and disembarking crew during offshore shift changes without lowering deck. o. Must meet all applicable USCG and USACE safety requirements. p. Must be capable of transiting to all work sites along the US East Coast and Florida Gulf Coast. q. Must have a minimum 18-inch diameter drill-through center well for drill stem. The NAICS code for this requirement is 21311. Responses must be received no later than 2:00 p.m. on 21 June 2010.
