Description
RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 A COMPETITIVE NEW CONTRACT, FOR RESEARCH ANDDEVELOPMENT (R&D), TO HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC, MN CONTRACT NO. NNA10DE13C. THE R&DEFFORTS WILL DEVELOP developing innovative tools, concepts, methods, and technologiesthat will improve the intrinsic safety attributes of current and future aircraft and ofaviation operations. <P>NASA Ames Research Center has committed support for specific efforts under the AmericanRecovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Recovery Act funds for NASAs Aviation SafetyProgram new aspects of future aircraft automation that will specifically focus ondeveloping innovative tools, concepts, methods, and technologies that improve the safetyattributes of current / future aircraft and of aviation operations. The IntegratedIntelligent Flight Deck (or IIFD) Project focuses on the challenges of aircraftautomation functions in the Next Gen environment, with particular attention to thepotential for safety and capacity increases in the terminal area. NASA ResearchAnnouncement (NRA), NNH09ZEA001N, NASA sought proposals that would support and identifydesigning functions of a critical element of future aviation systems; namely aircraftflight decks. The specific area of, per NASAs Recovery Act Program Plan for AviationSafety Program.
