- Description
- NASA/LaRC has a requirement to renew LS-DYNA software licenses.NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from Livermore Software Technology Corporation(LSTC). LS-DYNA was developed and marketed by LSTC. LS-DYNA is the only software thatincludes all the tools necessary to develop impact landing loads and is the only productthat is compatible with the analyses which were previously performed by NASA. It wouldtake substantial duplication of resources and time for another source to provide asimilar product, and this additional expense is not expected to be recovered throughcompetition. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon 06/17/2010.Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purposeof determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Adetermination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
