Description
The Space and Naval Warfare SystemsCenter (SPAWARSYSCEN) Charleston (Code 2212 Command and Control Contracts Department) is requesting information regarding Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) or prototype Dual Band Antenna. This RFI pertains to a future requirement for the procurement of 100 units. A possible first article test and evaluation may be required, with the solicitation/award/delivery of the equipment required within 2 months to meet the needs of the Government. At this time, procurement of equipment and material IS NOT part of this request. This is a Request For Information (RFI) only. Responses to the RFI should be emailed to Elaine Reed at joyce.pacereed@navy.mil no later than 4:00pm EDT on 21 June 2010. The Dual Band Antenna will be able to provide optimal operational performance in the frequency ranges of 138-153 MHz and 310-315MHz. The antenna shall be a vertically polarized, omni-directional, sleeved, monopole antenna. The antenna shall consist of a single vertical element and four ground plane elements. During transport, the antennas ground plane elements shall be capable of being collapsed and folded against the vertical element such that the transport configuration does not exceed the dimensions shown in Figure 1. The deployed, operational configuration shall be a single vertical element with four ground planes which are positioned as shown in Figure 2. Spring loaded connections shall secure the ground planes in both positions such that when deployed, the relative positions of the antenna elements are as specified in Figure 1 and movement to and from each position does not create parts which are separable from the antenna assembly. The four ground plane elements shall be constructed of a metal that will prevent unintentional breakage of the ground plane element when accidently side load in place on the element(s) during set-up, take-down, transportation or storage of the antenna. The minimum requirements for the Dual Band Antenna are listed in the attached specifications. Please address these minimum requirements in addition to any other information about your antenna that is deemed pertinent. In addition, companies are to provide applicable product brochures, complete technical specifications/data sheets, and any independent assessment results currently available. Additional information required is company POC information including name, address, phone number, email, etc. State business size classification (large, small, SBD, etc.) for NAICS code 334220 with a size standard of 750 employees. Also provide the manufacturers name, if different. The NAICS code 334220 is suggested for this procurement, however if another code is more appropriate, please include in the company documentation. This announcement is for information purposes only. This announcement shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government. This is not a request for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with the provision of the information requested in response to this announcement, nor any follow-up information requests. Respondents will not be notified of the results of any evaluation. The Closing Date for responses to this announcement is 4:00 pm on 21 June 2010. Submissions received after this date and time may be reviewed but may not be considered in contract planning or in the creation of a solicitation. Failure to respond to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future competition for this requirement.
