- THE FOLLOWING IS PROVIDED AS AN UPDATE TO A PREVIOUSLY ISSUED NOTICE TO INDUSTRY. THE ANTICIPATED SOLICITATION RELEASE DATE HAS BEEN UPDATED. The U.S. Army Research, Development, and Engineering Command (RDECOM) Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division (NCD), has a requirement for the manufacture and delivery of Military Free Fall Advanced Ram Air Parachute Systems (MFF ARAPS). The NAICS code for this requirement is 314999. The MFF ARAPS is the response to a capability gap identified by the U.S. Army. The MFF ARAPS is intended to offer increased altitudes for parachute deployment, increased stand-off, and increased exit weights. The MFF ARAPS will be a non-developmental item. This acquisition will be conducted on a full and open basis and will be awarded based upon best value. A firm fixed-price, five year requirements-type contract is anticipated with a one-year base ordering period and four optional one-year ordering periods. Developmental and Operational Testing will be performed during the base ordering period. The units will be shipped to PM-SEQ Haymarket, 15935 John Marshall Hwy., Haymarket, VA 20169. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be posted ON OR AROUND JUNE 23, 2010 to the Natick Contracting Division web site at https://www3.natick.army.mil, under Business Opportunities, Current Acquisitions, W911QY-10-R-0030. Proposals will be due 30 days after release of the RFP. Firms will not be reimbursed for any costs associated with proposal preparation. Only virgin material is to be used in the manufacture of these units. The Berry Amendment will apply.
