Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a not a total small business set-aside. This solicitation number is RFQ1646108 and the solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-41. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) on behalf of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) has a requirement for 800 grams of D-Glucose (U-13C6, 99%) sterility/pyrogenicity tested. NIMH is investigating the neural metabolism of healthy subjects and those with mental diseases. Carbon-13C(C13) MR spectroscopy experiment is one of the major research development in the MR Spectroscopy Unit and Core Facility. C13 enriched chemicals are usually very difficult to produce in large quantity (grams). NIMH requires large quantities of D-Glucose (U-13C6, 99%) for the clinical trials. The C13 MR spectroscopy methods developed will be applied to many other research groups in NIMH and NIH for various neural science studies. Offers will be evaluated on best value in relation to price. Quotations are to be sent electronically to larochek@mail.nih.gov. Offerors must include a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications Commercial Items, with its offer. Clause at 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Condition Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. Clause at 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition.
