- Description
- The Bureau of Land Management has a requirement for a stewardship project. The purpose of this contract is to provide services for fuels reduction and forest health. Specifically, fuel treatments will meet the following objectives: 1) Thinning from below to favor larger diameter ponderosa pine trees and remove the smaller and weaker trees. 2) Reduce the average crown bulk density (crown fuels) by spacing crowns of leave trees. 3) Increase the average crown base height (ladder fuels) by thinning out smaller trees. 4) Sustain and restore hardwood (aspen and birch) component. 5) Treat activity generated fuels and natural fuels by using one of, or a combination of the following methods; a) whole tree yarding and piling slash b) mastication c) chipping d) bull hog treatment. Other methods of treatments will be considered if proposed in the treatment plan. This project is located approximately 2.5 miles Southeast of Lead, South Dakota in Lawrence County. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 115310. This small business size standard is $7.0 million. This solicitation will be a total small business set-aside. The Solicitation is tentatively scheduled to be available on or around June 29, 2010 at https://www.fedconnect.net. No hard copies of the solicitation will be issued. The receipt of quotes is tentatively scheduled for July 28, 2010. All reasonable sources may submit a quote. Please check the solicitation for all required documentation to be submitted. Prospective contractors are required to be registered in Central Contractor registration (CCR). More information and the registration process can be obtained via the CCR website, http://www.ccr.gov.
