Description
SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS MICROFILTRATION/ULTRAFILTRATION MEMBRANE MANUFACTURERS This is a Sources Sought Synopsis for market research purposes only, and is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). A solicitation is not being issued at this time, and this notice shall be not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation. This sources sought is being published to identify potential sources that can provide commercial, Microfiltration/Ultrafiltration (MF/UF) membranes with the following capabilities/characteristics: -Pore sizes of 0.01 um to 0.05 um for UF and 0.05 um to 5 um for MF; -Polymer based, hollow fiber, non-ceramic materials;-Backwashable; -Integrity testable-Chemically cleanable using chemicals such as mild detergents, mild oxidizers such as chlorine, alkaline solutions, acid solutions, and enzymes;-Able to withstand operating temperatures of 0-25 degrees C and operating pH range of 4 to 9 pH units;-Capable of virus and some NOM removal; and-Pressure or vacuum driven. The Bureau of Reclamation intends using membranes in research to demonstrate contaminant removals in the San Juan River waters in New Mexico. This sources sought is to find possible candidates for research purposes only. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code proposed for the requirement is 333319, Other Commercial and Service Industry Machinery Manufacturing. The size standard for this NAICS is 500 employees. Comments on this NAICS and suggestions for alternatives must include supporting rationale. Interested parties are requested to submit product literature with specifications, and complete the attached questionnaire. The product literature and information provided shall be UNCLASSIFIED. Any information provided by industry to the Government as a result of this sources sought synopsis is strictly voluntary. Responses will not be returned. No entitlements to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges to the Government will arise as a result of contractor submission of responses, or the Government's use of such information. The information obtained from industries responses to this notice may be used in the development of an acquisition strategy and future RFP. The Government will use this information in determining its small business set-aside decision. The company's standard format is acceptable; however, the limit for the entire package provided shall not exceed fifteen (15) single-sided, 12 font size, 8 x 11-inch pages. The 15 page limit does not count the attached questionnaire. Contractors capable of providing this product should submit their package and reference the Sources Sought Number R10PS80560. However, email submissions are subject to size and type restrictions (typically limited to less than 2 megabyte in size and only non-executable attachments such as.doc or.pdf files) as well as any other appropriate network security measures. It is the respondent's responsibility to verify the e-mail was received and can be viewed. All responses must address each of the above stated requirements. Questions regarding this Sources Sought shall be emailed to cditmer@usbr.gov and shall be titled, "Sources Sought MF/UF Membrane." Questions will be accepted until noon MT 5 July 2010.
