- Description
- The FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center Aircraft, Bombardier, Global 5000, N47 with a Future Air Navigation System (FANS-1/A). To continue providing a contemporary flight test platform for future NextGen programs, a Future Air Navigation System (FANS-1/A) is required in the William J. Hughes Technical Center Aircraft, Bombardier Global 5000, N47. The FANS-1/A system consists of: (a) Collins SAT-6100 Satcom radio system, (b) A FANS capable Airborne Data Link Unit (ADLU), (c) VHF Data Link Mode II capability, including one (1) RTA-44D and one (1) Communications Management Unit (CMU). The installtion of the FANS-1/A is critical to present and future NextGen programs. Bombardier Incorporated is the only contractor capable of performing this action. The FAA is going to issue a single source procurement according to AMS 3.2.2.4If your firm does not agree with this single source determination, please provide evidence of your firm's capability and experience in delivering such services outlined above and the FAA will evaluate that information accordingly.
