- DRAFT PWS Attached GSA's Federal Acquisition Service plans on issuing a RFP for Research & Development for Higher-Performance, Portable Power Sources, US Army, CERDEC, Army Power Division. A Sources Sought was posted on FBO on May 10, 2010, under reference number 02FM21100511. A draft Performance Work Statement (PWS) was also attached to the Sources Sought of 5/10/10. A high level summary of the nature of the work is as follows: Development of improved portable power sources, increase power while decreasing physical size. Reform fuel cell - battery hybrid power sources. Investigate solid hydrogen fuel sources and liquid fuel conversions to produce hydrogen fuel. Fuel cell battery charger using fuel reformer. Develop PEM and methanol fuel cell. Solid oxide fuel cell technologies. Stirling engine power systems. Lithium and lithium ion batteries. Charging system such as solar, wind and other alternative approaches. State of Charge chips. The contract type will be a Time and Materials contract. A "DRAFT" PWS is attached. GSA anticipates issuance of the solicitation (RFP) on about June 24, 2010.
