Description
There have been several questions submitted by industry. The questions and answers are as follows: Q1) Requirement 4.7.3 requires panoramic machine capable of digital films. Is an analog unit acceptable if we provide at our cost an individual to convert each film into a digital image using our own scanning equipment? A1) This is acceptable as long as the contractor is able to convert the analog film into a digital image the same day that the panoramic image is taken. It is the upmost importance that there are no delays in updating the dental readiness statistics on a daily basis. Q2) Please confirm whether contractor will provide the staff to actually take the x-rays or perform exams. A2) The Army Reserve will provide Soldiers to take x-rays and perform exams. The contractor has the responsibility of providing a short train-up to the Army Reserve Soldiers on the use of the contractor provided equipment. Q3) Intelitouch Perio Probe is specifically requested in 4.5. Is a comparable unit acceptable? A3) Yes, a comparable unit is acceptable. Q4) 1.1 indicates that mobile dental practices will utilize the Apteryx commercial digital radiographic software. Is this the only software acceptable? We currently work with the Army National Guard in other states using other application that work just fine (e.g., Dexus or Schick). Would that be acceptable? A4) APTERYX is an acceptable commercial digital radiographic software that has been operationally proven to work with the government dental systems. APTERYX is the recommended software from the U.S. Army Dental Command (DENCOM), which is the proponent for the Army's dental systems. Dexus and Schick have not been operationally tested by the R3U Dental Team, and thus is not an acceptable substitute.
