- On or about 07 July 2010, this office will issue Invitations for Bid for construction of the Emergency and Control Gate Building Roof Repairs, Fort Peck Dam, Fort Peck, Montana. The solicitation will close on or about 06 Aug 2010. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work should contact Harold Dingman, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Peck Project Office, Telephone: 406-526-3411, X4279 DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See Obtaining Solicitation Documents below. Project Description: (Approx. quantities) The project will require the Contractor to remove and replace clay tile roofs on up to eight buildings (located along the axis of the dam) that house outlet works gates and lifting equipment. The buildings have internal copper gutters with external copper downspouts which are to be replaced with original material. The buildings consist of four Emergency Gate Buildings (roof areas of approximately 1,000 square feet each) and four Control Gate Buildings (roof areas of approximately 2,400 square feet each). The roofs are of a hipped design and are sloped at a 6 on 12 pitch. The four Emergency Gate Buildings have a wall height of approximately 56 feet. The four Control Gate Buildings have a wall height of approximately 22 feet. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after Notice to Proceed and complete the work 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety. The electronic annual representations and certifications are effective until one year from date of submission or update to ORCA.
