Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY and a SOLICITATION IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. The USDA-Agricultural Research Service at the National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research in Peoria, IL has a requirement for Scientific Microbalance. Presently the need consists primarily of Quartz Crystal Microbalance which meets the following criteria; GENERAL OPERATIONS: 1) electronic unit and sensor chamber platform for simultaneously monitoring 4 sensor chambers; 2) four sensor chambers; 3) data acquisition software for ramping temperature, detecting/measuring frequency/frequency changes over the range of 1 – 70 MHz, and detecting/measuring dissipation/dissipation changes ; 3) electrochemistry module for simultaneous electrochemical/mass detection measurements; 4) programmable temperature control; 5) liquid handling kit; 6) 4-channel peristaltic pump; 7) windows-capability operational and analytical software; 8) installation kit with holder; 9) simultaneous dissipation monitoring; 10) two-day offsite training; 11) sensor crystals – 5 MHz, 14 mm diameter, polished, AT-cut, gold electrodes; 12) one year warranty; 13) all necessary cables and connectors; 14) PC with 19” LCD monitor; 14) simultaneous humidity measurement; 16) simultaneous ellipsometry measurements; PHYSISORPTION/CHEMISORPTION CAPABILITIES: 1) surface mass detection range of 0.2 ng/cm2 in air (0.9 ng/cm2 in liquid) and above; 2) simultaneously detection of 7 frequencies (fundamental and 6 overtones); 3) in-situ treatment: programmable sample flow up to 1 mL/min; temperature control range of 10 – 65 °C and stability of ± 0.02 °C; detection of change in dissipation as low as 0.04 x 10-6; 5) active surfaces of glass/ceramics (SiO2), plastics (PE, PP, PS, PVC), metals (gold, tin, titanium, stainless steel, platinum, iron, tantalum, copper, chromium, zinc ), metal oxides (Fe2O3, Fe3O4, ZnO2, CeO2, ZnS, FeS and custom orders), polymer and applied coatings; data acquisition software with on-the-fly note editing and time stamp; PHYSISORPTION/CHEMISORPTION ANALYSIS: 1) frequency/dissipation data analysis software for mathematical modeling, temperature ramping, and modeling properties (viscosity, elasticity, kinetics, and thickness) of adsorbed material; 2) adsorption/desorption up to 200 data points/sec (per module); 3) inport/export format – Excel, ascii, BMP, JPG, Sigma Plot, Origin, WMF, JIF, META, PCX, PNG OPERATING MODES: Dissipation monitoring SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION: Frequency changes measured/analyzed with dissipation changes and humidity, electrochemistry, or ellipsometry. This notice is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or an obligation on the part of the government. The NAICS code for this requirement is 423490 and the size standard to qualify as a small business is 100 employees.
