Description
Gun Feeding Unit 23 (GFU-23), NSN: 1730-01-363-3778, Part#: 912E0001-100, provides ammunition loading/unloading for the AC-130 Gun Ship. The Ammunition Loader (AL) is driven by aircraft power and interfaces directly with gun system. Unit uses a conveyor mechanism consisting of a series of plastic tubes linked together with knitted straps. The loader consists of six independent major assemblies: (1) Loader Container Interface Unit Assembly, (2) Fixed Chute Assembly, (3) Loader Cradle Assembly, (4) Loader/Gun Interface Assembly, (5) Equilibrator Jack Assembly, and (6) Tube Threading Strap. Assembled as a loading system the AL provides for loading/unloading of 25mm ammunition into the GAU-12U gun system. Purchase will be a small business set aside. Surplus will not be acceptable. This requirement is for a basic quantity of one (1) each, to include first article approval plus three Options. Option I Qty: 1-2, Option II Qty: 1-2, Option III Qty: 1-2. Option may include both stateside and overseas Air Force requirements. First Article Test Plan due 60 days ARO with Test Report due 300 days ARO, delivery of First Article unit due 30 days after Test Report approval. Offerors shall prepare their proposals in accordance with mandatory, explicit, and detailed instructions contained in the RFP. The Government will utilize a Performance/Price Tradeoff (PPT) source selection procedure to make an integrated assessment for a best value award decision. Tradeoffs will be made between past performance and cost/price, with past performance being considered slightly more important than cost/price. Proposals will be evaluated and award made in accordance with the evaluation basis stated in the RFP. It is anticipated that the RFP will be released on or around 24 June 2010. The RFP will be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities webpage (http://www.fbo.gov/). NO HARD COPIES WILL BE PROVIDED. The technical data required to respond to the RFP may be obtained at the Federal Business Opportunities webpage (http://www.fbo.gov/).
