- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement for renovation, approximately 13,000 square foot inpatient rehab on the sixth floor of Building 1 East at VAMC West Haven, Connecticut to determine the interest, availability, and capability of Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, 8A, HUBZone, and Small Business concerns as described below. The NAICS code for this procurement is 236220. The estimated construction cost is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The project is planned to be issued on or about 29 July 2010 and the contract performance period is 20 months. Main items of work include the complete renovation, approximately 13,000 sq ft, of Building 1, 6th floor East at the VA Medical Center in West Haven, CT. The renovation will create a new 23 bed medical/surgical inpatient unit. Currently, the medical/surgical units are located on the 4th floor of Building 1; however, the existing units are out-dated and do not provide patient privacy. Additionally, the lack of storage space creates a safety hazard in the circulation of the space. This project will create a new 23 bed unit with single and double patient bedrooms, all with private bathrooms. In addition, infrastructure, to include Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP), Fire Protection, and Information Technology, in this area will be replaced and upgraded. This renovation will also require relocating the current occupants of the above space, which is currently mostly office space, into modular units. The provision of the modular units and the relocation of occupants are also part of this work. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. HUBZone, etc.) as well as qualifications and experience in performing the work requirements stated above. Please include a specific example of the firms relevant experience. Responses are due July 15, 2010. Responses should be addressed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Contracts Branch, New England District, 696 Virginia Road, Concord, MA 01742-2751, ATTN: Christine Johnson-Battista. Responses are limited to twenty pages. Firms interested shall provide the above documentation in one original form and one copy. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
