Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) anticipates soliciting offers and subsequently awarding a Firm-Fixed Price construction contract for a Design-Build Generator purchase and installation at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Austin Information Technology Center. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supplies, professional engineer services, design cherrette and travel necessary to perform this contract. This project includes (but is not limited to) general construction, professional engineer services, electrical work, mechanical, necessary removal of existing structures and other items. The Design-Build Construction Project is located at the following location: Department of Veterans Affairs Austin Information Technology Center 1615 Woodward Street Austin, TX 78772 The solicitation will be issued as an "Request for Proposal" (RFP) posted to FBO (www.fbo.gov) conducted in accordance with FAR Parts 15, 22 and 36, and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures therein. The solicitation will be 100% set-aside for Service Disabled Veterans Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) in accordance with Public Law 109-461. The applicable NAICS code is 236220 (Commercial and Institutional Building Construction) with a size standard of $33.5 million and 238210 (Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors) with a size standard of $14 million. The solicitation is anticipated to be issued on or about July 6, 2010, and proposals will be due 45 calendar days thereafter. A site visit will be scheduled for on or about July 15, 2010. This notice is not a request for competitive offers. Magnitude of Construction is expected to be between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. The point of contract is Lindsey Hooge, who can be reached at Lindsey.hooge@vagov. Questions may be submitted by e-mail to the above point of contract. Telephone calls will not be accepted. The VA, CAI reserves the right to use only FBO to provide notification of any amendments to this solicitation. It is the contractor's responsibility to view the FBO website daily for any amendments. All contracted personnel will be required to comply with security requirements including but not limited to VA Directive 6102 and VA Handbook 6500.6. In addition to registering in the Central Contractor Registration, all SDVOSBs, must register in VetBiz.gov VIP database, available at www.VetBiz.gov.
