Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District is soliciting quotations for the purchase of two (2) each 10,000 LB carbon vessels and (2) each 5,100 gallon polyethylene backwash storage tanks (farm tanks) for delivery no later than 30 July 2010. The solicitation will be available to interested contractors to download at Federal Business Opportunities o/a Friday, 25 June 2010. Following delivery, the contractor shall shrink wrap the carbon vessels. The scope of work follows: The contractor shall supply the following equipment: 1.Two 10,000 lb carbon vessels. Tigg Cansorb CP-8000 or equivalent. Such vessels shall have a maximum flow rate of 500 gpm, a pressure rating of 125 psig, with a 6 inch flanged inlet and outlet, and a 2 inch drain. Such vessels shall support full backwashing of activated carbon. Such vessel shall be made of pressure vessel quality carbon steel. The interior shall be coated with a high solids epoxy coating. The exterior shall have an epoxy base with a urethane topcoat. The vessels will have a maximum width of nine (9) feet and height of fourteen (14) feet. The vessels shall be equipped with an 18 inch bolted man way. The water to be treated by these vessels has a pH of approximately 7.0. Two 5,100 gallon polyethylene backwash storage tanks (farm tanks). After being delivered to Letterkenny Army Depot, Building 360 (IWTP), the vendor shall shrink wrap the carbon vessels with plastic film conforming to military specifications MIL-PRF-22019 D and MIL-B-22020 D for barrier, flexible, sealable, volatile corrosion inhibitor treated materials.
