- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey, Northern Rocky Mountain Science Center is conducting research on the efficiency of sound wave technologies for the eradication or deterrence of invasive species. This work will require leasing specific equipment capable of producing a range of sound waves as well as compressors and other accessory equipment required for efficient sound production (known as a hydrogun or watergun), as well as expert personnel to operate this highly technical equipment. Requirements for this component include: 1) equipment capable of producing desired sound waves 2) specialized converted electric compressor to allow for safe and multiple watergun operations 3) specific fitting and firing electronics to operate multiple waterguns and experienced personnel capable of operating the equipment 4) equipment shall contain 4 channel PC driven watergun synchronizers. Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253, implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the government considers the item specified as a sole source from the Bolt Technologies Corporation, 4 Duke Place, Norwalk, CT 06854 and proposes to negotiate with that firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required equipment and services are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-response to this request without further consideration. Affirmative response shall be received by this office by close of business July 8, 2010 by 3:00 PM Mountain Standard Time. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
