Description
Synopsis: This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE only. Responses to this notice will be used for information and planning purposes. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this notice. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS OR PRICING AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS NOTICE. This notice shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Responses to this sources sought are not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The VA Black Hills Health Care System (VISN 23) is seeking sources to provide an orthopedic surgery services per the following statement of work: STATEMENT OF WORK Purpose of the contract: Orthopedic Services Description of work: Staff Orthopedist to perform services at the VA Black Hills Healthcare System, Fort Meade. Services include: 1.Perform operations and procedures one day a week. Outpatient cases performed in the operating room include carpel tunnel release, trigger finger release, mumford, rotator cuff, knee arthroscopy, and shoulder arthroscopy. A typical number of cases in a day would include minor procedures (2-4 per day). 2.Provide consult clinic visits two half days per month, approximately 10 patients per half day. Must be computer literate and will be trained to use the VA software. All records are electronic. All dictation must be available electronically within 24 hrs of a procedure. Orders, progress notes, immediate post-op note, operation reports, and discharge summaries are all on the electronic record. There is a central dictation system that will transcribe information to be signed electronically by the physician. All VA requirements and policies will be followed. VA requirements may include: completion of mandatory education. Monitoring systems are in place to endorse reimbursement for performance. Monitors may include: OR log, clinic lists, crosschecks for procedure dictation, face-to-face sign-in and sign-out. Contractor shall be board certified or board eligible. Contract Structure: Per procedure based on CPT codes. Proposed Start Date of July 26, 2010 or earlier dependent on credentialing. There will be no on-call duty, no weekend coverage, and no administrative/supervisory duties required. Time on duty will be patient care time. Proposals will be evaluated on certification(s), experience, and academic affiliation(s). Preference will be given to candidates with VA experience; background checks completed, and are in VetPro. Contract Duration One base year plus 3 option years Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by submitting documentation detailing their experience and resources. Interested parties' responses shall include: Company Name, DUNS number, address, point of contract, title, phone number and e-mail address. Interested parties shall also identify their type of business (Small or large) and socioeconomic status whether Service Disabled Veteran Owned, Veteran Owned, Hubzone 8(a), Woman owned, Small Disadvantaged, etc. The NAICs code for this is 621111, Offices of Physicians (size standard of $10 million). Responses are to be sent electronically to pamela.phillips@va.gov. After review of the responses to this sources sought notice, a solicitation announcement may be published on the FBO website. Responses to this sources sought notice are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested parties will have to respond to the solicitation announcement in addition to responding to this sources sought notice. Interested parties are reminded to register with Central Contractor Registration (CCR) at http:///www.ccr.gov in order to be eligible for award of Government contracts.
