- Solicitation N10PS35063 seeks one Contractor furnished float airplane, fully Contractor operated and maintained, to support the US Geological Service (USGS) Alaska Science Center. Place of performance is at the Tundra Ecological Research Station (64 52'N, 111 34'W) located approximately 200 miles northeast of Yellowknife, in the Northwest Territories, Canada. Anticipated period of performance is July 9 through July 17, 2010. Contractor will transport passengers to various locations (usually within 40 minutes flight range of the research center) during the performance period. There will be many trips involving transporting 2 passengers and up to 150 pounds of gear to a lake, dropping them off, and then similarly moving another crew. The crews will contact the contractor from the field via a Government furnished satellite phone to indicate when they are ready for pick up and return to the research center. Overnights will be at the research center where tie up locations are available for the float plane. The Contractor shall possess a Canadian Aviation Regulation (CAR) Part VII, Subpart 3 (703) Air Taxi Operations or Part VII, Subpart 4 (704) Commuter Operations, Air Operator Certificate which authorizes the Contractor to operate in the area, the type service and type of aircraft required. The aircraft must be identified on the air operator certificate in accordance with CAR 703.08 or 704.08. The anticipated issue date of the solicitation is June 24, 2010 with a projected closing date of June 29, 2010. The solicitation is not set aside for small business.
