- Description
- NASA Goddard Space Flight Center is hereby soliciting information about potential8(a) businesses to support the Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS). Thiscompetitive procurement will be a follow-on under Contract NNG06HX21C for specializedscientific support services to the Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS). Thisacquisition is being offered for competition limited to 8(a) concerns. The NAICS code forthis procurement is 541519, and the size standard is 25 million dollars in annual averagereceipts. Proposed services include providing scientific programming and analysis in support ofspecific GISS research programs and performing computer facility operations, systemsprogramming, technical library operations, and overall logistical support for the GISSresearch facility. The scientific programming and analysis functions are integral partsof the respective research programs, whereas the other support functions are required tomaintain and operate the facilities used in performing the research. The GISS research programs to be supported can be conveniently grouped into three broadareas: (1) Global Climate Modeling: The climate modeling program GISS is primarily aimedat the development of three-dimensional general circulation models (GCMs) for simulatingthe Earth climate system; (2) Earth Observations: Accurate data necessary forcharacterizing the Earth climate and for monitoring trends in the average state of theatmosphere; (3) Planetary Atmospheres: Although limited in number, the atmospheres of theother planets of the solar system provide a nonetheless broad range of conditions andregimes for which we can test our basic understanding of atmospheric processes, includingthe greenhouse effect, aerosol and cloud physics, and atmospheric chemistry and dynamics.The effort will be performed on-site at the Goddard Institute for Space Studies in NewYork, New York. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If asolicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA AcquisitionInternet Service. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these sitesfor the release of any solicitation or synopsis.Interested offerors/vendors having the required specialized capabilities to meet theabove requirement should submit a capability statement of five (5) pages or lessindicating the ability to perform all aspects of the effort described herein.Responses must include the following: name and address of firm, size of business; averageannual revenue for past 3 years and number of employees; ownership; whether they arelarge, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), HUBZone, and/or woman-owned; number of years inbusiness; affiliate information: parent company, joint venture partners, potentialteaming partners, prime contractor (if potential sub) or subcontractors (if potentialprime); list of customers covering the past five years (highlight relevant workperformed, contract numbers, contract type, dollar value of each procurement; and pointof contact - address and phone number).
