Description
Modification to the Closing Date: From: Closing Date 1 July 2010 at 4:00PM Eastern Time. To: Closing Date 2 July 2010 at 4:00PM Eastern Time. Clarification to questions submitted against the Solicitation and Statement of Work Section 3.3: How will the 90% compliance be evaluated? What will be the basis for the determination? The proposals will be evaluated against the solicitation on a line by line basis. The evaluation team will judge compliance with each line item. Section 5.1.1: 200 Hz (and 500 Hz in Section 5.2.1) seems to be a high frequency with respect to hydraulic shaker performance. (1) Can you provide the transfer function of the servo valve and PID settings up to 500Hz.? No. We expect the control system to survey the transfer function needed to perform the appropriate control strategy. Section 7.5.2: Please define what is meant by "portable chassis" such as size requirements, environmental specifications, acquisition software and analysis software capabilities, standalone operation without computer for time recording, etc. The portable system shall be small enough for one person to carry. The portable system shall be capable of surviving commercial shipping environments to include shock, vibration, temperature, and humidity. The portable system shall be capable of running all acquisition and analysis software the rack mount chassis is capable of running with the exception of running the MIMO control software standalone as specified in section 7.5.2.1. For data acquisition, standalone operation without the need for a laptop computer is desired but not required. Section: 7.5.4: The current state-of-the-art hardware is 24 bit, which is usually preferred for portable systems where signal ranges may not be known upfront and 24-bit resolution is needed to avoid having to autorange and provide sufficient overhead to avoid overloads. What is the rationale behind the 16-bit requirement when 24 bit is a standard? The requirement is 16-bit or higher. Section 7.5.11: Out of the 120 channels, how many strain conditioning channels would be preferable? To clarify the analog input requirement specified in section 7.5, 120 channels shall be capable of providing signal conditioning for IEPE type transducers. In addition, preference will be given to vibration control systems which meet section 7.5.11. The desired number of channels to meet section 7.5.11 is 60 of the 120 channels.
