Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet. NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. Request For Quotation (RFQ) number is N66604-10-Q-3847. Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-27. NUWC Division Newport intends to issue a Firm-Fixed Price contract on a Sole Source Basis to Lockheed Martin Corporation, Eagan, MN for the following items: MCE Type I Cabinet, P/N: 1724026-100+01, Qty. 1. Required delivery is 180 days after award, F.O.B. Destination Naval Station Newport; Newport, RI. The basis of this sole source is that the MCE Type I Cabinet must be of the exact configuration as installed on other ships to ensure fleet compatibility with existing systems, since the cabinet is required to support In-Service Engineering Activity tasking. In addition, these cabinets have already been tested and certified for installation on ships with the AN/SQQ-89 sonar system. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. For information on this acquisition please contact Irma S. Mattei at 401-832-8479 or e-mail at irma.s.mattei@navy.mil.
