- Description
- I.SUMMARY The Naval Air Systems Command wishes to announce an industry day for the Unmanned Carrier Launched Airborne Surveillance and Strike (UCLASS) System. The UCLASS System is envisioned to be a carrier based Unmanned Air System (UAS) with balanced survivability characteristics optimized for Irregular and Hybrid Warfare scenarios. The UCLASS system is also envisioned to integrate with manned platforms as part of the Carrier Air Wing (CVW) by the end of 2018 to support limited operations in contested scenarios. The UAS should enhance situational awareness and shorten the time it takes to find, fix, track, target, engage, and assess time sensitive targets. Industry day will be held on 05 August 2010 and is anticipated to be an all day event focused on carrier integration and airworthiness certification of an Unmanned Air System (UAS) operating from a CVN-class ship. This industry day is an informational exchange with industry led by the Navy Program Executive Office for Unmanned Aviation and Strike Weapons [PEO (U&W)]. This is NOT a Request for Proposals. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS EXIST AT THIS TIME. The U. S. Government will NOT assume liability for contractor expenses. This is an UNCLASSIFIED meeting. All information discussed must be UNCLASSIFIED. Any information provided or discussed by attendees must not be contractor proprietary or business sensitive information. Any information or ideas shared during this industry day may be used to develop UCLASS System technical and/or acquisition documents.
