10181AM429 This is a notice of intent to go Sol Source in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 for the following items: All Equipment needed to convert a vechicle for Law Enforment and installation. To include, Lights, siren, camera, partition, weapon mount, computer mount, etc... Vendor:Auto Additions4775 Portland Rd. NESalem, OR 97305 The vendor must provide AND install all specified equipment to set up a fully functional turnkey police vehicle. The vendor must complete all work in accordance with current industry standards for professional police vehicles. Auto Additions, Inc. in Salem, Oregon is the only business in the Portland area that we have been able to locate which can provide both the required equipment and specialized installation to set up turnkey police vehicles. Auto Additions, Inc. is a master distributor for the major manufacturers of specialized equipment for police vehicles (Code 3, Whelen, Federal Signal, etc.) Auto Additions, Inc. is a business that specializes in setting up police vehicles. Auto Additions, Inc. performs police vehicle setup work for over 80 different law enforcement agencies in Oregon and Washington. Auto Additions, Inc. provides a very specialized service, and routinely provides and properly installs specialized police equipment and emergency vehicle identification including visual warning devices (a variety of LED lights, strobe lights, headlight and tail light flashers, spotlights, etc.), audible warning devices (siren and public address system), communications equipment (radios, cellular phones, communications console), computer equipment, traffic radar systems, dash cam video and audio recording systems, specialized electronics systems (custom modular wiring harness, fuse panel, electrical management system), firearms security mounts with electronic locks for shotguns and rifles, aluminum security storage containers, prisoner transport cages and restraint equipment, and bureau law enforcement identification stripes and emblems. At Auto Additions, Inc., the average installation time to complete each police vehicle is about one week. At Auto Additions, Inc., all installation work is performed by qualified technicians who specialize in setting up police vehicles. Auto Additions, Inc. technicians have demonstrated ability to safely adapt police equipment installation criteria to fit the requirements of each specific vehicle make, model, and application. Auto Additions, Inc. technicians have demonstrated professional ability in specialized vehicle electronics, police equipment installation, and custom design and fabrication of metal work. Routinely, these technicians professionally modify original factory equipment and systems to accommodate the installation of the additional police equipment. At Auto Additions, Inc., all installed electronic equipment is wired into a specialized custom modular wiring harness and auxiliary fuse panel with labeled wires. Auto Additions, Inc. technicians routinely design and fabricate custom hardware, brackets, mounting systems, communications consoles, and firearms locking mounting systems to fit each specific vehicle and application. In order to provide for the safety of law enforcement officers, and prevent damage to vehicle electrical or electronics systems, Auto Additions, Inc. technicians always insure that all vehicle systems are fully compatible. On every police vehicle, added specialized equipment is fully integrated with original vehicle equipment, and all emergency equipment is installed to operate as a completed turnkey system. Furthermore, in order to insure consistency and safety in emergency vehicle operations, all law enforcement vehicles in the Region 1 law enforcement fleet must be set up to a single professional standard for police vehicles. All police vehicles in this fleet must be set up to operate in an identical and standard manner. This officer safety requirement can only be achieved by having all of these police vehicles set up to a single professional standard, by a single professional vendor.
