- Description
- NAVAIR definitized a sole source Firm Fixed Price contract with General Atomics for the fabrication and integration of one Electronic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) CVN 78 Ship Set (CLIN 0001) and one Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) CVN 78 Ship Set (CLIN 1001). The Government procured this equipment under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1) as implemented by the FAR Section 6.302-1. General Atomics is the designer & developer of the EMALS/AAG systems and is the only source posessing the requisite system knowledge, enginering expertise, and technical data necessary to produce and delivery the systems within the time frame necessary to meet the ship installation schedule.
