- Research objectives require participants with background in advanced mathematics, quantum mechanics, electrodynamics and non-linear optics, for the development of reliable theoretical and computational tools to be used in the study of the dynamics of high-power phased fiber laser arrays. This fixed-price action was not competed; other potential sources (University of New Mexico, University of Arizona and Courant Institute) were either unavailable or could not provide qualified personnel. Given the limited scope and duration of the project, the choice of Acevco Research is in the best interest of the Air Force as measured by competence, overlapping experience, prospects of success in meeting project goals and economic considerations.
