- This is a notice of intent to issue a contract to Life Technologies Corporation, 3175 Staley Rd, Grand Island, NY, 14072-2090, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements, 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The proposed procurement is for Illumina Total PrepAmp Kit 24 Reactions (2 Parts). The Research Resources Branch Laboratory scanner will only read Illumina arrays due to the increase in resolution necessary to capture the image data. Illumina arrays are only distributed through Life Technologies (formerly Ambion) so they must be ordered as sole source items. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this acquisition is NIHAG2010137 AND THE SOLICITATION IS BEING ISSUED AS AN NOTICE OF INTENT. This solicitation document and its incorporated provisions are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition circular (FAC 2005-18). This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 325413 and the small-business size standard is $500. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
