Description
NASA/DFRC has a requirement for a Magic Planet Learning System.The specifications are:-Require one 24' digital video globe that allows the projections of data sets on globesin real time. Such data sets include things such as global climate patterns, naturaldisasters, earth observing, etc.-The 24' globe will remain stationary at the Dryden Visitor Center (Edwards, CA).-The 24' sphere will have software and content development tools, desktop computer withwireless keyboard and mouse, pedestal base and a touch screen kiosk including 19' monitorwith speakers.-The software should include the touch screen exhibits such as the Mars-earth Connection,Aura, Earth, Moon, Mars and Beyond, Solar System Tour, Lunar Precursor Robotic Programand NASA Earth Science Exhibit.-One year software and hardware support maintenance should be provided.-The sphere comes with a chassis, lens, software, remote control, community membership,documentation, support for one year and software runtime, a lumen projector andreplacement bulb for projector.-A one day in person set up training should be included to provide and overview ofinstallation and particulars. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are beingrequested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to usethe On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above orit may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. Theinformation required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred)no later than 07/29/2010. Quotes/Proposals are due no later than 4:30 pm local time on08/06/2010. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release ofamendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their owncopy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any).An ombudsman has been appointed - See NASA Specific Note 'B'.Any referenced notes may be viewed at the following URLs link below.
