- The Directorate of contracting, Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield (HAAF) intends to solicit proposals for a firm-fixed price for one Base and two option years contract to Repair Fire Hydrants at Fort Stewart and HAAF, GA. The work to be performed shall consist of furnishing all materials, labor, supervision and equipment to perform in strict accordance with specifications and drawings. The work includes, but is not necessarily restricted to, the following items: " Repairing existing fire hydrants. The work may include raising hydrants, cleaning and lubricating, replacing miscellaneous items, and replacing missing items as required and directed. " Install new fire hydrants, valves, and piping as directed. " Requirements to excavate, backfill, and compact. " Requirements to saw cut and remove concrete and asphalt pavements. " Requirements to replace concrete, asphalt and sidewalks in areas of repair. " Requirements for installing reflective paint striping and related items after repairing area. " Requirements to establish grass and erosion control on job sites. " All demolition includes disposal of material. Disposal will be off the government installation. This procurement is 100% set-Aside for certified HUB-Zone small businesses. Offerors must be certified with the Small Business Administration as a HUB-Zone small business. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237110, and the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 1623. The magnitude of this solicitation is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Basis for award is Lowest Price/Technically Acceptable. A copy of the solicitation, scope of work and any amendments will be available for downloading from the internet. Questions on this solicitation and Request for Information (RFI) shill be submitted in writing via email NLT 4:00 PM 5 August 2010. Questions received after that date of telephonically may be answered at the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
