Description
Warrior Care Solicitation Contractor support for the National Guard's Warrior Care Program. The contract type will be Indefinate Delivery Indefinate Quantity (IDIQ) for one (1) base period with four (4) option years. The National Guard seeks to provide a contract vehicle to facilitate the control and direction of nationwide National Guard clinical services. These comprehensive areas include, but are not limited to; management, counseling, training, advocacy, marketing, education, research, crises intervention, and follow-up support. The National Guard provides a variety of support services for approximately 468,000 Service Members and their dependents. About 74,500 are activated at any one time. When activated, Service Members and their dependents also are eligible for medical benefits including mental health services provided through the Military Health Service by the Service Member's Parent Service (either the US Air Force or the US Army). National Guard Service Members lead dual civilian and military lives and may be activated from civilian life and deployed anywhere in the world on short notice. Although activations may be voluntary or involuntary, over 82% of current activations are involuntary. While not activated, Service Members participate in an ongoing lifecycle of training designed to achieve and maintain readiness for deployment. Authority: 10 U.S.C., Chapter 55; Section 723, National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2007, Pub. L. 109-163 and the Report of the DOD Task Force on Mental Health (TFMH), June 2007.
