Description
The VA Medical Center, 200 Veterans Avenue, Beckley, West Virginia is seeking potential sources capable of providing all personnel and equipment for emergent and non-emergent, basic and advanced life support ambulance service, twenty-four hours per day, 365 days per year, on an as needed basis. This includes the requirement for Critical Care Transport. Contract period is for one-year. The VAMC Beckley area of coverage includes the following counties in West Virginia: Clay, Fayette, Greenbrier, McDowell, Mercer, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Raleigh, Summers and Wyoming and Tazewell, Virginia. All bid prices would be for loaded (mileage incurred with the patient actually on board the ambulance from the point of pickup to destination) miles only. Contract will also require trips to VAMC Richmond Virginia, VAMC Salem Virginia as well as other VAMC's in the region. Emergency Medical Technicians providing emergency service on ambulances under this contract must be certified, licensed or otherwise officially recognized by the local, state or regional government or public entity where the emergency ambulance services is operated or by which it is governed. They must have completed training in accordance with the standards published by the Department of Health Service with a minimum curriculum of 81 hours or "equivalent" including an in-hospital training period and acceptable under regulations for local EMS systems supported by DHHS under PL 93-154.39 Federal Regulation 24,304 (1974). Technicians and ambulance drivers must be capable of administer oxygen and have successfully completed the Standards and Advanced First Aid Courses of the American Red Cross or U.S. Bureau of Mines or equivalent. The applicable NAICS Code is 621910 with a size standard of $7.0Million. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. Responses to this sources sought notice should include the following: name and address of company; business size (large or small); identify whether or not firm falls into any of the following socioeconomic categories - 8(a), HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned; firm's experience in providing emergent and non-emergent, basic and advanced life support ambulance service in a professional setting and any other pertinent information, which demonstrates ability to meet the above requirement.
