Description
This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Station Support/Simplified Acquisition (SS/SA) Branch on behalf of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) intends to solicit, negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis to MBF Bioscience, 185 Allen Brook Lane, Suite 101, Williston, VT 05495, for the configuration and software integration of a Zeiss AxioImager M2 microscope system with the MBF Bioscience Neurolucida system. The Zeiss AxioImager M2 configured for brightfield and multi-channel fluorescent, work with Neurolucida and/or Stereo Investigator. The system includes an LED lamp, motorized fluorescent filter turret and shutter, manual encoded 7x objective turret, manual condenser and dust cover. The Neurolucida system is proprietary to MBF Bioscience. Programmers at MBF Bioscience are the only programmers that have the knowledge and expertise to integrate the Zeiss AxioImager M2 microscope system with the MBF Bioscience Neurolucida system. The acquisition is being conducted using FAR part 13.106-1(b)(1) procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR part 6, competition requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing synopsis number NOI1683559 may be submitted to the NIDA, Station Support Simplified Acquisitions Branch, 31 Center Drive, Bldg 31, Room 1B59, Bethesda, MD 20892-2080 and attention Korriise LaRoche, Contract Specialist, larochek@mail.nih.gov, on or before August 9, 2010 3:00pm.
