- The U.S. Coast Guard is setting aside this acquisition for Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business concerns. The NAICS Code is 336611 and the small business standard is less than 1,000 employees. This acquisition will be issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ) on or about August 10, 2010 via the Federal Business Opportunities (FEDBIZOPPS) web page at www.eps.gov with quotes due on or about August 31, 2010. The government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation, either before or after the quote opening or closing date. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings is available free of charge to contractors upon request not later than three (3) days from the quote opening. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc).The acquisition is for dockside repairs to the USCGC VALIANT (WMEC-621), a 210 foot B Class Medium Endurance Cutter, at the vessel homeport of Miami Beach, Florida. The vessel availability is starting on or about November 4, 2009 to December 29, 2009, for a total of sixty (56) days. The work will include, but is not limited to the following (1-D) Main Diesel Engine (MDE) exhaust stack uptakes, clean (2-D) Ship Service Diesel Generator (SSDG) exhaust piping, clean (3-D) Boiler Exhaust stack uptakes, clean (4-D) Rails (Handrail), renew (5-D) Fan Coil units, renew (6-D) Ventilation ducting, renew (7-D) Fuel piping, renew (8-D) TALON helicopter landing grid, perform inspection and maintenance (9-O) Perform ultrasonic thickness measurements - steel plating (10-D) Warping Capstan-Maintenance (11-D) Port bridge wing deck, inspect (12-D) Gun mount, renew pedestal (13-D) Structural Plating-deck plating (steel, frame 164) renew (14-D) Structural Plating-shell plating (steel, frame 205) renew (15-D) Structural Plating-shell plating (steel, frame 210) renew (16-D) Piping insulation, renew (17-D) Steam piping, renew (18-D) Structural Plating-LOG office deck plating (steel) renew (19-D) Deck covering (interior wet/dry) renew (20-D) Renew No. 1 and No. 2 Ship service boiler shells (A-O) Composite Labor Rate (B-D) GFP Report (C-D) Travel and Per diem All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualifications procedures.
