- The Library of Congress (LOC) is the nation's oldest federal cultural institution and serves as the research arm of Congress. It is also the largest library in the world, with over 140 million books, recordings, photographs, maps and manuscripts in its collections. Its pictorial collections alone comprise almost 14 million photographs, prints, drawings, and posters. Preserving its resources and making them available and useful to the Congress and the American people is a key part of the Library's mission, and an aggressive digitization program supports that aim. In support of the Library's digitization program, the the Library is soliciting to award a Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity Contract for the digital conversion of still image media, including prints and photographs, books, catalog cards, manuscripts, microfilm, microfiche, along with the digitization of various audio-video materials. See attached solicitation for details. Questions and answers submitted in response to the formal solicitation are now due by 6/23/10 at Noon. *Note that the package containing documents related to Amendment 0005 is incorrectly labeled as Solicitation 2 (on the right side of the screen). Solicitation 3 is Amendment 0006 and solicitation 4 is Amendment 0007.
